Dancing On Ice has reportedly signed Brendan Cole for the next series of the hit ITV programme, which is set to return in January 2022.

The 45 year old, who previously took part in Strictly Come Dancing, has been open about his views around the Covid-19 vaccine and the use of face masks amid the ongoing pandemic.

However, according to The Sun, ITV is aware of his stance and confident that the safety protocols they've placed will be enough to keep everyone protected.

It's also been claimed that he deleted part of his Instagram biography, which had included a needle emoji next to the words "pro freedom of choice".

An insider told the publication that Brendan has been living in Mallorca with his wife Zoe and their two children together for the past year, where "everyone is relaxed, and not many islanders are jabbed".

Calling his reported involvement in the show "controversial", the source explained: “He’s been very outspoken both publicly and privately about governments trying to make people get jabbed, and how he thinks the wearing of masks is fairly pointless.

"The last thing ITV bosses will want is another anti-vaxxing row. Hopefully Brendan has privately been jabbed, and that’ll be the end of the matter.”

ITV and a representative for Brendan have been approached by OK! Online for further comment on the matter.

Earlier this year, Brendan had a fall out with former Dancing On Ice winner James Jordan after the New Zealander shared a post claiming masks were ineffective.

He then deleted the post following backlash and wrote: “I will point out there is plenty of evidence on the contrary and it is up to each of us what to believe.”
