Brad Pitt plans to spend New Year’s with new ‘girlfriend’ Ines de Ramon

I’m not trying to be fair or “both sides” the issue of film criticism: I openly and plainly want to see all of the bad reviews for Babylon. It looks like a stupid, self-indulgent movie and I want Brad Pitt to fail. I also want Damien Chazelle to fail, but that’s just because I think he’s overrated as a writer/director. Anyway, Pitt’s crisis management team sobered him up and cleaned him long enough to attend last Thursday’s LA premiere of Babylon. They set him up with Ines de Ramon, Paul Wesley’s estranged wife, and there were reports of Ines and Brad hanging out together after the premiere. How convenient that People Magazine got an exclusive on it too – Ines and Brad plan to spend New Year’s together.

Brad Pitt and girlfriend Ines de Ramon have their New Year’s Eve plans made. After the Oscar-winning actor, 58, was seen with the jewelry executive, 32, at the afterparty for his new movie Babylon Thursday night, a fashion industry source close to de Ramon tells PEOPLE that Pitt “is clearly very into her given he brought her to his premiere.”

“Ines said that Brad is very sweet,” the source says, noting that the pair “are planning to spend New Year’s Eve together.”

Meanwhile, a source close to Pitt tells PEOPLE the pair are “dating and happy,” adding, “It’s not serious yet but he’s comfortable and they’re having fun together.”

A separate insider says Pitt “enjoys dating Ines” and they “hang out when they are not busy.” The insider adds, “Ines is fun and social. They have a great time together. They do solo dates, but also group dates with friends.”

The couple’s outing at Thursday’s Babylon premiere comes a month after PEOPLE confirmed the pair “have been dating for a few months.” They were first photographed together on Nov. 13 alongside Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber backstage at a Bono concert at Los Angeles’ Orpheum Theatre.

According to a source at the time, “Brad is really into” de Ramon, who separated from her husband, Vampire Diaries star Paul Wesley, earlier this year.

No mention, I suppose, of whether Brad will see his children for Christmas. I suspect that’s being left unsaid on purpose – it’s clear the kids (whom he abused) can’t stand him and want nothing to do with him. Pitt is still trying to play it like Angelina is forcing the estrangement, so this People Mag article increases Pitt’s sad-sack narrative. “Poor guy who can’t see his kids on Christmas, thank god he has some young girlfriend who will spend time with him on NYE.” Pathetic.
